The FoxCab juniors kicked off the season last night (29.3) against Kilmacud Crokes in the Division 4 cup. We togged out in Kilbogget with 18 players and a debuts for new players Rose, Roisin and Eibhe who all made great contributions to the team. We also had some minors join for the evening which was greatly appreciated.
It was a great match from start to finish. The defence was really strong and worked the ball out well, with great linking play with the midfielders. It was a good battle between both sides. FoxCab had most of the possession throughout the game, particularly in the second half, but unfortunately that wasn’t reflected in the score line, with the game finishing 4.6 to 1.6 to Crokes. The forwards were particularly unlucky, narrowly missing three goal chances in the last quarter of the game.
The work-rate and intensity was excellent throughout with some great points coming from play. We start our league campaign next week and are looking forward to battling Crokes again in the first game.
