We are delighted to confirm that the new process for notifying Injury Fund claims on Foireann, went live on 29 June 2026, to replace the current system of submitting a Preliminary Claim Form by email or post.  This new process has been put in place to make it easier to submit claim notifications, improve tracking, and help ensure that all required information is captured accurately and efficiently.

What this means

From 29 June 2026, Injury Fund claim notifications may be submitted using Foireann (under the Player Actions tab). However, for an interim period, Preliminary Claim Forms will continue to be accepted.

 Benefits of the new system

The new Injury Notifications process has been introduced to:

  • improve the accuracy and completeness of claim information submitted
  • improve visibility and tracking of claims
  • reduce delays caused by missing information
  • reduce workload on club and county secretaries

Action required

Players or Injured Member

  • Ensure your Foireann profile and family is correctly set up on Foireann.
  • From the go-live date, Injury Fund claims should be notified by players (or parents/guardians) via the new system by logging into their Foireann account and following the steps in the support document:
Club Administration

  • Ensure that the Club Secretary or Club Injury Fund Administrator are listed as Secretary or Injury Fund Administrator of the Executive Committee on Foireann.
  • Review Club Team Setup on Foireann. Claims linked to non-covered teams cannot be processed by the Club Secretary or Injury Fund Co-Ordinator.
  • Club Secretaries or Injury Fund Officers will now review and approve or reject all Injury Notifications on Foireann.
  • Please ensure that all club members are made aware of the new system for logging an Injury Notification on Foireann and associated changes to the process going forward.

 County Administration

  • Ensure that the County Secretary or County Injury Fund Administrator are listed as Secretary or Injury Fund Administrator of the Executive Committee on Foireann.
  • Review County Team Setup on Foireann. Claims linked to non-covered teams cannot be processed by the County Secretary or Injury Fund Co-Ordinator.
  • County Secretaries or Injury Fund Administrators will now review and approve or reject all Injury Notifications on Foireann.
