ANNOUNCEMENT
RE: MANAGER OF THE DUBLIN LADIES SENIOR FOOTBALLERS
Saturday 23rd November 2024.
Issued on behalf of Dublin LGFA Executive Committee.
Dublin LGFA can confirm that Mick Bohan has informed the Executive Committee of his decision not to have his name submitted for ratification as Dublin Ladies senior manager. Joe Keane, Chairperson of Dublin LGFA, has accepted this decision.
Joe Keane on behalf of the Executive Committee would like to thank Mick most sincerely for the professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm he gave to Dublin during his time as senior manager. Mick’s pride in the Dublin jersey was evident for all to see.
Mick Bohan departs the Inter County scene as Dublin’s longest serving and most successful senior manager. He won his fifth, and the counties overall sixth, TG4 All Ireland senior crown in August 2023 defeating Kerry in an epic contest.
During his second term as senior manager Mick led Dublin to a four-in-a-row of All Ireland championships (2017 to 2020) along with two LIDL NFL Div one league titles (2018 and 2021). Mick also guided Dublin to six TG4 Senior Leinster titles (2017-2019) (2022-2024)*.
Mick was part of the 2002 senior management team that won the county’s first provincial crown and was at the helm when Dublin qualified for the 2003 All Ireland final versus Mayo, another historic first for the county.
There is no doubt that Mick Bohan has played a pivotal role in several key moments throughout our association’s history.
Everyone involved in Dublin LGFA would like to wish Mick all the very best with his future endeavours. We are also extremely thankful to Louise and the Bohan family for their unwavering support of Dublin LGFA over the years.
A special word of appreciation also to the various backroom personnel who worked alongside Mick during his eight-year tenure. We are very indebted to everyone who played their part in orchestrating the most successful period in Dublin LGFA history.
The Dublin Executive Committee will now begin the process of selecting and appointing a new Dublin senior management team.
*TG4 Leinster SFC not played in 2020, 2021.
